It's all good and fair the point you're making. Like I said before, bad timing on my part, but I was really referring to that summer thread of the world cup. I understand that certain threads NEED to be deleted for whatever reasons, but it seems to be like it's taken too far on a number of occasions. I'm not gonna try to stir the pot anymore, I would just like to think that we can discuss certain things without a thread being immediately deleted because people "might" say something offensive.

Like I said, I know the thread you are referring to, and I feel that was an over reactive thread full of emotion for others "teams". I still don't get it.......but it's a game to me.


the others that you're speaking of I feel are just over-reaction. I try to keep things neutral. I know most others do as well. You are correct in saying that some NEED to be deleted, but other people don't feel the same. It's all in favor of the community.

Sorry. I intend to continue deleting threads that contain inappropriate material for a public forum, contain bigotted comments or slurs, demean or threaten any member, and are of a nature to incite infighting instead of sharing topics of learning and experiences.

So threads can be closed/deleted, yet obviously inflammatory and insulting sigs suffer no restraint?

There are many threads that remain open, yet are "childish and antagonistic". Hell, half the threads here (and on other sites) degrade into versions of those adjectives. Anytime you get varied individuals together (even those united behind a common interest) they will disagree about many not-so-important things. I can appreciate the thankless task of trying to moderate AND curb infighting, but it would seem that many times the criteria for applying sanitizer is inequitable.

I agree with Benfica540's query - why are certain miserable topics not allowed to develop and die their own natural death? It may keep them from flowering so often ...

I am on both the fence in thread deletion... I feel one thing about one thread and another thing about the next thread...

I feel allot of things shouldn't be deleted and allot should.. Ultimately it is up to the people that were trusted in the positions that have this privelage to use their best discression in this action..

Infact I had one of my threads edited and it was pm'd to me upon doing so for the betterment of understanding And I feel it was an excellent decision and helped me view what i had posted on a level much larger than just myself.. Plus I believe it is better informative now the way it is

And I have asked Mods to edit certain things that i have put in threads that I was unable to do myself due to time limit.. And it has been done for me as it was viewed the way i viewed it "childish" response so I was granted the actions I requested.

Wonderful. Lately, there has been more fighting here (and there) than I can stand. I log on to this site to view pictures, facts, and opinions about fish, and all the new posts are drama threads. Truthfully, I thought we were all better than this.
