The Sleeper Goby caught here on the island of Taboga has been getting less and less camera shy these days.

and a sea turtle crawled up on the beach near our favorite cafe/hangout to dig a hole and deposit a bunch of eggs, its a little too close to the high tide line, so the local Aero Naval Unit dug them up after she crawled back inyo the sea, and moved them to a safer location, away from the popular human area.
Photo below taken by Heidi, one of the Turtle Watch volunteers.

and lots of rain, sometimes 24 hours downpours, so I do daily water changes using that rain water, and because one of my sump/algaescrubber/refugiums sits in the yard under the eaves, rain from the roof causes it to overflow onto the ground, adding to the already extra water being replaced, and circulating.

Thanks for sharing the Panamanian culture.

The last of the rainy season deluges are slowing, but still turning the streams that usually just trickle thru Isla Taboga, to rapids, making it difficult to capture the local shrimp. They crawl up under banks, and lodge in the mud.

Geckos are everywhere here, on the patio, and in the house, sometimes crawling on hands and feet if we sit still.

They constantly battle for territory on the walls and ceiling, so its not unusual to find dead of injured individuals on the patio, or on the steps. when I find them they usually get dropped in the tank, so as not to go to waste.

Most of the 5 square mile island is uninhabited, and inaccessible to humans except by boat, and in the tiny sliver of a town.
