Not a good choice. They need a LOT of room, usually a host fish (which should be three times larger than the ramora and willing to have a parasitic fish clinging to it) and are very hard to keep on food once in captivity.

I've kept them before. One I had would hardly eat, and kept trying to attach to a 9 foot sandtiger who didn't want it. Then one day, it was just gone (but the sandtiger seemed to be smiling.)

You seem reluctant to tell us the size of these tanks....but meh your gonna do it anyway.

And you seem to care a bit much-
I said I could house a 30 inch fish-What more do you need to know-

I got ponds which size I will keep to myself-But I asure you it can easily house 30 inch fish---This isn't "monster fish keepers" for a reason...

Also can have custom tanks built to my specs...Like i said If I want the fish-I can house it-

Thanks

Generally speaking the do badly. They need a large predator to mooch off of and get free rides. They eat the scraps left behind by the messy predators. I would also think they would have mental habitual problems with not having a big predator to ride on. Overall I think it would be a bad idea. If you like the look of a remora try to find another fish that looks similar but without the same needs.

They sem to do fine on scraps though-
My LFS has had one now for over a year-It was housed in a 270 with large eel, tang, puffer, and ray....It had some issues after that year or so and is now housed in a 55 gal corner tank.

I was gonna try to give it a better life-But see that it wouldn't be a wise purchase...Although I can basically get it donated to me...

I'd be surprised if you could buy one anywhere, ive never heard of anyone keeping one before,it's not really a suitable aquarium pet...and other than being diffrent would be very boring...mainly due to the fact they don't really do anything other than latch on to bigger animals and scavenge scraps!

Take a picture when you got one,i'll believe it when i see it lol

Why not get a much cooler massive fish like a Panther Grouper or something.

You are eager to doubt me.....You dont know me-Nor what I got..

I'll get pics though-Just to shut you up-People here know me...I have no reason to lie...I was trying to make a decision and wanted info in regards to one---Which you didn't even have the decency to offer..Only try to ? my ability to house one even after I told you I could...

I think you should really move one to someone else...I certainly dont need your input any further..

But thanks....

In my opinion if its eating well, and you can obviously give it a better life then it being stuck in a 55 for most if not all of its life, I say go for it!

Woah don't forget the Prozaks mate! I wasn't trying to wind you up at all, your crazy.

I was trying to explain i had never seen one in a LFS nor heard of anybody keeping one,and i can see why..even in a pond it would have to be gigantic..its not like a reef fish.

I dont care if they know you around here, and IT IS called monster fish keepers for a reason ;)

I'm not your mate/buddy/whatever you want to call it either.

You should have went about your posts a bit better than...

You offered no info and still dont.

You got info to bring to the table-By all means bring it-----Make me look stupid-I asked for it-

If not move the hell on

im so glad your back on the forum ak, it wasnt the same without you. i know you can house this fish, but if its not right for you, then dont do it, you know better than anyone if you could house it or not. it would be an oddball in my book though. i dont think ive ever seen one in a home aquarium.
