Damn kid! 15"?! That's awesome. My largest is about 10"! I would love to see a 15" Black Crappie! Link to the thread with your first two catches? I would love to see them. Mass sucks man. It's snowing right now. It's suppose to snow til Tuesday. I want to fish soo bad! I need to buy a boat this year. I'm thinking about a cheap two seat canoe.

it called fishing season 09

So what happens to the big turtle when you go 'round the corner and buy another one?

It isn't the matter of the turtle being to large, the turtle will nip and eventually kill the eartheaters if the Grammodes wont beat him to it.
When i started in this hobby, i was like you, i wanted BIG fish and aggressive, but in 7 years i have finally learned that that is not all. Now you have beautiful eartheaters and i assume you would like to keep it that way. Now i have some points to make.

1. It was stupid to get the eartheaters, grammodes and the turtle if you where gonna mix them.

2. Now get rid of the turtle/put it in another tank, put the grammodes in another tank to show that you are mature enaugh to keep Cichlids/Reptiles.

3. Japes, i aggree with you in every single way.

And cichlid fiend, dont post a rude post to me, most MFK members are with me on that one.

the turtle is not from a store it is from a local fishing spot. He said that in the first post. Also that grammodes looks pretty small right now and from what ive read they are not that aggro as youngins. lol and they grow slow, so you have some time to get tanks for both, or just to split them up, and that turtle will no tget the right lighting in that tank. Thjey need UV light for the propper break down of calcium. Without the right lighting they will get brittle bones, diformed bodies and shells. And even if you do buy the correct bulbs (which by the way are 30$ each for an 18" bulb) the fish tank hood has glass on the bottom which filters out UV rays so it would be pointless to put in. My suggestion is to get rid or the turtle. Or give him a proper inclosure.

i would get rid of that turtle, I just wouldn't trust it with my fish

It's a yellow belly slider. He's in New Jersey. It's a baby. It's March 1. How do those add up to it being wild collected?
