why get rid of the sev also arent they somewhat community friendly
He's the one who said the Sev was picking on the other fish, too. That's why I suggested what I did.

i doubt a 5inch oscar is feeling cramped in a 75

Not physically-but territorially-that's blatantly obvious by his actions. Which is what I was talking about.

The oscar probably isn't cramped, but if other fish are getting drilled by it, then just keep the oscar on its own. They are great, responsive fish. Again if you don't like keeping fish alone, dump the oscar and go for a community of smaller fish.

The oscar is claiming the entire tank as his territory. Its hit or miss as to which or whether he will allow tankmates.Mine hated silver dollars others seem to be ok with them.Mine allows plecos others oscars would not.
Severum are considered less aggressive by cichlid standards but are still cichlids.

I would keep the oscar alone, and your problem is solved!

when you say its gone crazy what do you actually mean?
are you new to cichlids?
if its relentless attacking and fish getting injured? then rehome something, or is it the odd chase around and flaring which comes natural to cichlids

If you know of an LFS that will do it, trade it in for another oscar. I have a 12-13" oscar who has never touched another fish in my tank, no even a 4" Banjo Cat

Sorry to hear you're having tank problems. I agree with those who said that eventually the Oscar will take up the whole 75 by himself. There's no way you can keep an Oscar and 3 Severum in a 75 for the long run so just keep the Oscar or maybe a pair of Severum...whichever you like better. Oscars have great personalities but so do Severum, espcially when they get a little bigger. GL and don't throw in the towel just yet. I'm sure you'll enjoy the tank more without all the aggession.

I've never had luck with O's having more than one tankmate myself even with another O although I see them in the lfs together and know other people have more than one. A lot of fish have their own personalities though so a lot of times its hit or miss. I wouldn't quit yet. Just have a little patience it work out for you.

If you want fish that all get along get a barb tank, my tinfoil barbs go great with bala sharks and even some from the Characin family like silver dollars will do well with them. Cichlids are more teritorial than barbs and some other types of fish so if you really want peace go with barbs, bala sharks etc
