IN YOUR HEAD
i am do with retics...i love their patterns, but i am done with them...out of 10 rays now i have 3...

i am tired of them having random deaths...i have had a few die from shipping and one got to stressed...now my male that was doing great...eating lots, very active...DEAD...nothing wrong with him...ate and was normal yesterday this morning dead...no sighns of anything wrong fat and heathy...i am getting rid of the last three females i have and i may or may not do a diff. kind of ray, but idk...atleast for now...i have lost alot of money on these...i can figure it out...i can keep brook trout, but not retics...

Sorry for your loss buddy.i know how you feel,its very frustrating when your fish seem fine and then they are gone the next day for no apparent reason,hope you have better luck in the future.

People start with retics because they are cheap and stay small. Sad to say but the majority of them die. That is why most will recomend a larger tank and motoros. Sorry to hear about your losses

Sorry for your losses. Retics are def not a beginner ray, and it sucks you've lost so much time and money on them. I do hope though that this doesn't turn you completely off of rays, and you start over with a motoro.

thanx and i was going to do motoros and i may get some after i move the females i have now...i wanted to try to breed the retics, but now i know why there really isn't anyone doing it...this male i have had since before cristmas and he was flawless then dead...i expected some losses, but 70% is just to much...

I know how you feel, man. All 4 of the retics that I kept ended up dying, two of them from completely unknown and sudden causes. Fine one day, dead the next. Very frustrating when you're providing the best possible care and something still dies on you, for no discernible reason.

Good luck if you decide to try keeping rays again in the future. I really suggest (if you have a big enough tank) getting a CB motoro, as they are soooo much easier to keep healthy and happy than the retics are. The motoro's are by far my favorite fish.

i am tring to sell these females or trade them on a pair of motoros...stingrays are one of my favorite to keep...i am just very frusterated...

thanx, i will try at some point...if i don't sell them today i will talk to the lfs tommarow about some motoro trades, but i don't want to spend to much more on rays right now as i am unemployeed and this loss is more costly then i could have imagined...

Absolutely correct on the Motoros; Very easy to keep and very animated in their interaction with you; Sorry to hear about your retics;

thanx

sorry to hear about all the losses, i've lost a few and its hard. question, how long have you had these rays for before they died?

more then a few months except the 3 that died from shipping...the male i have had since before x-mas...the most resent rays were from 1-13-10...i have 2 of them left of 4 that i got...all were/are eatting
