Especially if its dad is that tiny little guy vamptrev just sold... ;)

Scobina rays are supposed to be a lot more hardier, i'm going to trade my retic's for them at some point. Don't motoro rays get pretty big?

i am not through with rays as i can't get enough of them just with retics...just funds limit me alot more without a job...and since the us economy sucks the jobs are not really out there...i will try to get a pair of motoros if i can get a good deal or if the lfs will stike a deal on a trade with me...i know at sum point i will have leos, flowers and tigers, but i will have to wait along time i fear to get them...

it is just i can keep alot of hard to keep fish with ease ex. my brook trout tank...yet these retics are impossible...it takes alot to get me discuraged and these retics have about done it...

Motoro all the way man! I first started with the same kind of ray you did. After 8 months it died on me. I jumped into getting a flower way which dies after a month but then I turned not to reg motoros but marble ones. I find that they need around the same amount of care that a red motoro does. I reason why I went for this kind of ray is b/c they look WAY better than the reg motoros do. Yes they do cost more. In my case $100 more but they are really nice looking ray to have. But after I lost a few rays I gave up on them to. I wanted 7 rays but that never got done b/c they died and what not. So like I said I gave up. I had two marles in the end. 1 male and 1 female. I sold the female and kept the male. I decided to give up on my pair. I reason why I sold the female is b/c she wasn't that good of an eater. The person that has her now has done wonders and she is doing fine. The male that I kept is awsome. I think he is the one. I just got him on pellets last week. So don't give up on rays but when you do get more go for the marbles.

the only problem i have with marbles is the funds...i really don't have any/much for the fish keeping right now...thats why i will try to strike a deal with the lfs tomarrow..

well there goes another one...she is sitting on the bottom stiff, but breathing...there is nothing wrong with the tank...i don't get it...ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10-15 ph 7.2...now that makes 2 of 10 alive...

My first ray was a CB motoro. Ate like a piggy from day one and is still one of my favorite rays, plus didn't cost me an arm and a leg because I got it from a local breeder. Hope things look up for ya in the future!

i can get reg. motoros at 6-7" for $160...the wife is more pissed then i am...she hates fish and she doesn't see that these rays are not as hardy as others...all she sees is the $500 go in the garbage and not wanting to risk another couple hundred on them...i think once i get a good job i will be able to get some motoros...unless i find a real hook up before then...

Pretty sure there was talk of Reticulated disapointment when you asked about them in the 1st place. They're just like Scombs. No one knows why, it's just easier to accept it and move along.....

I'd stay away from Marbles after this ordeal, I've had several Marbles pull the same crap Retics do, and considering what you've allready been through IF you go shell out $300-400 on a Marble and it checks out you're gonna hate rays forever.

What you need is an established male Motoro. Hit up MNstingray, he had a hybrid Marble/Motoro that's been in captivity a while and is a proven breeder.
