But this is what the report button is for, and this is what mods are for
Hello; Interesting. I got the opposite take from a post by an actual Mod recently. Might be in this very thread but I have not looked.
As I recall that Mod seemed to be indicating the opposite. That Mods do not want to spend their time and energy with all the reports.

Yeah, no sheet Jeff. The idea is for people to not act like children, so the mods can enjoy this site like the rest of us, and not spend all of their time babysitting. You really need someone to explain that to you? Wow.

That doesn't mean that they don't want members to use the report button, and clearly they are moderators, which means they are here to moderate when needed. That's exactly what they volunteered for.

The solution is rather simple, do as I suggested (use the report button) and let the admin/mods do what is required. That doesn't mean that anyone has to roll over, I obviously don't, but the report button was added so that admin/mods are made aware of a situation in a timely fashion.

We were talking about this over a pm. Someone wondered what others may think....and here we are.

No one is advocating for a lawless area. I hope any mods that skim through this dont get the wrong impression

It is and isnt. Neil the other day i was told (not by a mod) that stating " lets let this go" or something similar was offensive or disingenuous. I dont want to be the reason why mods are answering idiotic reporting or complaints.

Ive never used the reporting feature... i cant think of a reason why i would have to.

We have a lot of new mods here, I think we need to give the system a chance to get settled.

That's your choice Frank. Sometimes the only way to get an out of control situation back under control, is to have someone with authority make that happen. That's just reality, in all walks of life. Like I said previously, mods can't be everywhere, reading everything. Especially the way things were prior to all of the new mods coming on. Rob & Justin were doing the bulk load of everything - how much "fun" do you reckon they were having when visiting MFK?

Some of the people here consider this a community, well a community isn't held together by just a few people. Everyone needs to do their part, and pull their weight, in order for the community to thrive. One of my greatest pet peeves is when some OG jackass shows up in a thread, and says something along the lines of "it sure is dead around here compared to the good old days" - yet when I check their activity there isn't any. They add almost zero value to the current forum, but they are the first to whine about the low activity. lol Really?

I think the new mods are perfect tbh blend of old school and new school this has nothing to do with them.

I obviously can't comment on that situation, Frank. I have no idea what happened. I'm just commenting about the "community" feeling here in general. The only reason for me speaking out over these past few months is due to a few individuals, that IMO needed to have their chains yanked for the betterment of the community. I only did (said) what many here were thinking. This forum, any forum, is only as good as its content, and if the quality of content begins to slide, so will the quality of membership. I do not want to see that happen. I am not against a non-fish section, such as the Lounge. It serves a purpose, and is a good thing I think.

Exactly, some not even that. But somehow they feel they have the right to complain about the quality of the forum. Unreal.
