Thylacoleo carnifex

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I did not say its Thylacoleo, it could be a big felidae. But would be interesting to know which one. I guess Leopard.

On a sidenote, do you think Thylacines do still exist on Tasmania? There are pretty often sightings.

I think there's just as much of a chance for thylacine to be alive on the mainland as on Tasmania. There's a lot of land and most of the sightings actually come from Australia, not Tasmania.

Couldn't there be cases of escaped pets (big cats) that could explain this? These cats do escape or are released (by crazy people) all over the world, it's just no one will ever talk about it. Since there is only 1 or 2 at most, people won't usually run into them, but they will eat and attack the local animals.

I don´t know if the Thylacine could stand against the Dingo on the mainland. Thats what i wonder. Fossil record indicates, that the Thylacine died out on the mainland many thousand years ago.

Australian megafauna is an amazing topic.

That's the outback.. I was talking about deserts. Deserts support no population of such big carnivores.

Maybe it was...a troll!!!!!!!!!!!!
