My 300 gallon ticking time bomb has been stocked. We are snowed in around these parts so I figured what better time then now to let it all hang out and assemble my long anticipated ticking timebomb tank. Since the weather is crap and I'm unemployed I'll be closely monitoring the tank with net in hand in case stuff gets out of hand.

I've had to seperate runts from 2 shoals but all fish have accepted various tankmates up to this point. I have raised all but 2 of these fish from only a couple inches. All have been broken from feeders for a few months and all have always cohabbed peacefully with disimilar species.

Coincidently its the holidays and the stocklist is in similar fasion to the days of christmas. Each number of species goes up by one. Ill give you the lone ranger, 1 Silver Aro. There are different Characin species numbering 2,3,4, and 5 pieces. Of course there is 4 Marbles in there but they don't count as fish. :)

To make it a little more interesting you guys gotta guess the stocklist correctly then Ill post some videos.

Unfortunately I can't upload till tomorrow and I burnt up both cards with video clips (sadly they are only 30 second clips :( )

So far so good. Hopefully it works out cause this is probobly the neatest, most active tank I've ever seen in person. Allready lasting longer then the previous "Dorado experiment"

Hoping this experiment will give us Characin keepers hope that we don't have to keep single species apex predator tanks. Its very fascinating seeing different Characin shoals in the same tank. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it will work...

i agree we need pics

Still appears trouble free. I think there may be something to this Jap tank theory. Put enough fish together and they can't focus on a single fish to pick on or feel isolated enough to be able to claim territories.

No guesses on stocklist? You guys are no fun... Lol :)

What Channa said and I'm almost certain you have the cynopotamus in there.

cynopotamus,thats what i was thinking.
They are the ones that I want.

The Cynopotomus are the ones that ended the Dorado experiment within the 1st hour. My girl watched them split off the smallest Dorado from the rest of the shoal and immediately nailed it. Stripped the scales right off. The huge gash exposed a good deal of flesh. I think adding the Aro about a month ago took away their command of the tank, making them much more passive since they are no longer kings of the tank defending their territory. They haven't shown even the slightest bit of aggresion yet. They seem more confused then anything right now with all the other fish.

1 Silver Aro. 2 Cynopotomus sp. And Channa you guessed the rest correctly, Armatus, Odoe, and Dorado. Not sure if I'll be able to get stuff uploaded. I have no PC and almost all businesses have closed due to the blizzard we're experiencing right now. We've gotten close to a foot of snow and have 40-50 mph winds. I assure you guys I'll get pics and video up as soon as I get access to a computer.
