Ticking Timebomb Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
gotta love winter -42 here today

We're only @ -15 to -25. I can tell you that I've always listened to cancelations and in the last 18 years that I've listened to them I have never heard announcements on the radio for banks, court houses, libraries, bars, clinics, pharmacies, factories, even mall stores ALL closing. So far we've only lost power for about an hour and a half so I can't complain... Perfect weather for making sure your fish don't kill eachother... :)

sounds like lots of fun!!

the real fun will be when the lights go out

Isn't that the truth...

I plan on doing the same with this tank as the other tanks the Armatus have been brought up in, normal lights during the day and blue moonlights at night. Hopefully they play nice. If not the lights will have to stay on. Ha ha!

This may seem wreckless on my part but I've been working on this for a long time. Assuring all fish have what I feel is a proper upbringing. I may have to leave the hobby in the upcoming months. That being said I had to try this before its too late. My last hoorah if you will. I've just worked too hard to get this far and then have to break up the collection before I tried to achieve the end result. If it works... Great! If not, then maybe the research I've done up to this point will help everyone else that is trying to achieve a respectable collection of different species of predatory Characins that can live together without killing one another.

I would feel a lot safer IF I was able to add a big shoal of silver dollars, tinfoils, or some type of dithers. Unfortunately my financial state won't allow me to do this so I have no choice but to hope it will still work without.

Just wanted to explain where I stand before anyone asks why I'd try such a risky combination. I've raised several batches of most of these species and have continually made changes to attempt to achieve a successfull end result. Wish me luck. Considering what's swimming in this tank, I'll need all the luck I can get. This may be one of the last threads I do like this. Hopefully not but definetly a possibility. If you've read this far and are following this thread- Thank you. I assure you the pics and vids will get posted as soon as the weather permits.
If anyone has any kind of questions please feel free to ask and I'll gladly answer them the best I can.

Thanks again to those who have been following along in these Characin adventures. Its been a pleasure having your company!! Vamptrev, Channarox, Mad ness, Krichardson, Hybridtheory, R1ridah, Krswop1, Jlnguyen74, you all have been part of the inspiration behind this "dream tank" of mine. For that I thank all of you. And especially thank you to Killarbb for giving a great home to all the misfits, outcasts, murderers, and runts.

Glad to be involved in the discussions,I've learned quite a bit along the way.

u better not get out!!

I hope it doesn't come to that, I really do. But it may be inevetable.

If only there was a boarding school for fish. Someplace you could send your fish and tanks to pay "fish" support and pick them up in a few years.

I'm sure this current stocklist would look amazing in my 750. Too bad I'll probobly never see it.

Really sucks! Raise the money to buy the tanks, fish, and necassary equipment, spend 3 years tracking down the ever so elusive nice Marbles, endure the emotional rollercoaster of figuring out how to keep WC rays alive, painstakingly learn how to raise predatory Characins to not be predatory, invest the time and learn how to maintain everything, then when its all done have to walk away... Believe me, I'll do everything I can to avoid that, but times are tough, and sometimes as much as you wanna get up life just doesn't allow it.

My man, just hook me up with the last iteam before you check out big dogg (I hope you dont but I needed to post it since the deal is not final;)).

I cant wait to see pics of the A-Bomb big dogg. Try to get a feeding video:naughty:

good luck bro.
i know how it feels..i may have to leave as well in the coming years...
national service and before that,a very important exam.:(
it must really suck getting all the fish youve always wanted and then having to get rid of them...ah well,we've lived the dream to say the least.
lets hope this MONSTER combination works out for you.
like i said before, you never know until you try!

E don't worry man. I cleaned it all up yesterday but the post office has been closed due to the storm. I'm even sending the newest one I have.

Sorry to all for the delay and all the rambling......
