I wouldn't worry about substrate like eco earth getting in the water. Its not going to foul it.

do you have experience with marbled pothos (easier for me to get) I've been told its non toxic by some but toxic by others, also what kinds of plants could i use should they have leaves for him to sit on or just a canopy of leaves for him to hide under

any common tropical plant will do really I would recommend any pothos and a bromileda

changed his substrate to moss and put in a water bowl i am going to either get a bromiliad or some pothos to replace the fake tree stump and get bigger vines ,there happy?

you can take the vines and twist the together to make them bigger and the stump is fine, broms are great, the frogs will love em
