Okay, so he can hold it next to his body for size referance, now all of a sudden, OMG, it is prolly a 15 pounder at the most. I am basing my guess because he's holding it with a hand and like 2 fingers touching the back of the fish.

No,the fish looks big because it's freaking huge. The catch was weighed on a certified scale and is being acknowledged as the real deal by a lot of folks that are considered heavyweights in the big bass world.

I'm not crazy about the rule that the fish has to beat the previous record by 2 ounces, but I can understand the IGFA having that provision for a number of reasons.

If you look at the picture next to the measuring tape, the fish is .74 meters, which is just over 29 inches, and look at the girth on it, the girth is immense.
