Tig coloration

Ok I am getting those pellets today but he is looking for some were to hide now that I took the tubes out. This won't stress him out and hurt him will it?

you can also try tilapia fellets... that's what i feed mine... and on your video... watch out for overfeeding... you don't need to feed til they look like they will pop... overfeeding is a big problem with tigs...

I started feeding my tig by throwing food at it's head. Literally. They r rubbish hunters. mine took pellets by day 7.
No need to do the above any more, I just throw food in the tank and the tig gets what he can.
It's gone from 7.5 inch to 8.5 inch in 7 weeks. It does not feeding daily.
The markings are gettig whiter and blacker all the time. The tank mates are a Leo , and tiger fish. So no other catfish to compete with. Some members have posted top advice in some recent tig threads.
I definately do all I can to ensure it gets no Prawns when I feed prawns by throwing food at opposite end Of tank the tig is in.
Catfish typically eat most type of food so pellets should be quite easy to convert too.
The experienced tig keepers say make sure it doesn't get bloated by overfeedIng, especially with prawns muscles etc. So I have taken that on board. I would hate to be the cause of reason should it die from overfeeding.
I have no hiding spaces and the tig is absoluteltly fine. It's cheeks are starting to get a blue tint.

Also I got pellets today how Long should it take him till he eats? And he looks scared and skiddish without the tubes. Still leave them out?

From my experience, first 2 weeks I had wood in tank as I had a L number plec. The tig used to stay near the wood all the time. Then sold plec and took wood out . Now the tig always stays close to my ray. Is active in it's own area of the tank. No decor at all now.

If u are worried, then put pipes if u feel it will make him more secure. Might be tankmates stressing him out.

An overfed tig has a really bulging tummy. Just aim to have a slender underbelly so when he sits still it doesn't look like he will roll over. Again , a few members and tig owners I know gave me their advice based on their experience.

Ok mine didn't take pellets the first night. And he is the boss in the tank ha. He has no problems with the other fish or vise versa. He now just sits in the corner by me filter intake. I'll let him go I guess. I never heard of a tig dying from stress like a I'D shark. So he should be ok.

Well my I'D shark at the pellets right off the bat. But the damn tig won't eat them. Be will keep my I'D away from some pellets but won't eat them owell always tomorrow. Tigs don't die from no hiding right?

I have never had hiding places for my tig

It may take 10-14 days for the tig to start eating the pellets so dont panic just stick with it

As for the hiding places you will find the tig will now hold on to one corner prob near the filter intake pipe he may even start to swim vertically next to the intake pipe again this is normal and nothing to worry about

Just keep stoping the pellets near the tigs head and he will start taking them
