So now that I have the plywood tank in the house, I have a 20, 29, 50 gallon tanks to play with.
So I figured I would start breeding the tiger barbs to get a larger shoal in the tank in the house.
Here is what I have as of now, a section of garage, lets call it the 'fish section'.

Alright...the water has cleared up from the sand and gravel.

The 50 gallon tank to the right will be my aquaponic experiment. At first I will use some of my fat goldfish to cycle the growbed, then put strawberries into it. Then if everything goes right, I will place the barb fry to grow out.

The 30 gallon on the left will be for some convicts(if I ever get any)to breed and raise their fry.

The 20 gallon will be for the actual barbs to breed.

I have a 112 in the house where the barbs are housed and will be housed after breeding.

The 30 cascades into the 20, then into the 30 gallon sump.

Any comments?

So I added a 55 gallon barrel into the mix to add more water volume and to stabalize the temperatures. I also have 3 large goldfish cycling the system.DSCN2333.JPG
once the temp reaches 74 overnight, i will put in the mating pair of barbs

Hard to tell from the pics, but is that eggcrate in the barb breeding tank so they can't eat the eggs? I was thinking of breeding some of mine for my 90 tiger barb tank and had the same thought. Good luck, I will be following.

Sorry, not 90 barbs, 90 gallon tank, I do have about 30 barbs in there though.will try to throw up a pic later.

some pics i took, hard to see some of the green barbs with the black background, then i threw in a bloodworm gumdrop to get them in the open. also need to vac the sand, love the look, buts gets so dirty quickly. can also see the 8" pink kissing gourami and peacock eel.
