any updates on the progress? am trying to breed my tiger barbs as well. any tips or advice will be helpful

i cant lie that set up is pretty kool . i would have used bigger tubes and make it a way for the fish and fry to be able to travel thru all the tanks when were they please. i was kind of thinking about doing it that when i had my old 20 high, my 29 firemouth grow out and my 40 breeder.

well, the temps in the garage finally climbed over 70 last night, so I put 2 gravid females in the 20 gallon this morning. Saturday I wil put the flashiest male, and then let the magic begin....hopefully. All my females pretty much stay gravid all the time. I always see feeding frenzies at the bottom of the aquarium where the barbs scatter the eggs. So I am hoping now that I have a set up for them, I can get some fry.

I'll take some pictures later tonight, but after looking in the tank with a bright light, i believe i see some scattered eggs

Can wait for pics. By the way, are your barbs gold coloring clean or is the black specs and spots in it?

Okay, just FYI, tiger barbs can and will fit through the gaps in egg crate. After they scattered the eggs, they made their way through the grate. So i had to double up and overlap the squares(pictures to follow). The females are gravid once again, so we are giving it another go.
