Ok, for dithers, you guys think that the common rummy nose tetras can work? If not, I'll just switch back to getting dwarf neon rainbows for dithers.
Dwarf neon rainbowfish and rummies will never work. Giant danios are just about the options here as they are not fussy with the water conditions plus a bonus that they dwell the surface most of the time so harassments are minimal. Congo tetras on the other hand prefer soft acidic water at best so I won't recommend them either.

yeah giant danios are just about perfect imo

Some people reccommended rainbowfish to me also, so I guess I'll try them. It won't hurt if I give it a try.

I completely forgot the Boesemann's rainbowfish. That one can work as well considering they prefer hard alkaline waters. A better choice than dwarf neon rainbows. Good luck.:)

Another dither I had in mind is the Cyprichromis Leptosoma. I have heard from some people that they are good as using for dithers. Since it is also an African cichlid and it can thrive in the same waters, I can also try them. I just gotta find some in my lfs.

Will clown loaches or some synos help bring out my africans?
Loaches lack tolerance to being pushed around by cichlids. Synos are your better bets.
