800 gallons is kinda sketchy musky get pretty damn big as you probably know already maybe try and upgrade your pond a little a little extra breathing room would always be nice

very cool you shoul be fine for a while if there only 3 or 4 inchhes. i thinking of geting some someday

:screwy: srry about the 800gal+ its realy gonna be 2250gal its 9x9x4 srry i just found out on i staid thatn on page 2:screwy:

800gal pond is too small for even koi, let alone a tiger muskie in the long term. Generally speaking, for fish which grow to 12inches or more, the tank/pond should be at least 4 times the maximum length of the fish to find the length, and to find the right width of the tank/pond, it should be 2 times the adult maximum length of the fish.

I'm no expert on these fish, but i've heard they'll grow to 3ft+ in 4-5 years time, so an 800gal pond may surfice for a while, but are you really going to want to upgrade the pond in the near future? Lengthening/widening ponds isn't easy work. It will probably be best to avoid this beast of a fish if you don't see yourself giving it a much larger pond in the future.

pll read i said its a 2250 gal not a 800gal i just gessed , ok it has changed again to a 2700-3400gal pond!

my muskie is in 78 degree water, u think he will be ok?
they can be kept at that temp for a while but they grow the fastest in water around 64-66 but do well in water 58-69f they also live much longer when kept in cool water

yours seems to look like a tiger, idk its a decent pic with bad lighting, but i had two untill the neighbor kid babysat our fish and killed them when we were on vacation last week, idk where ill be able to buy them again :(
Tigers grow alot faster then typical muskies but dont get as big when full grown, still a huge fish reguardless though.

ok thanks and thats not my fish
mine are 3.5 and 4inches and there gulping down 2inch shad
