for me the best tankmates for tsn are the arapaima gigas,clown knife,aligator gar,spotted gar , pacus,red tail catfish, wallago attu, snakes head/toman, and the ancient chinese fish (lol..i 4got their name..sorry). Yepp they r all promised to be GIANTS MONSTERS FISH!!!!!!!!!!!! Try to get them all!

Way to dig up the oldest thread ever!!! Anyway, Id go with black aro. Not as big as silvers, and stay at the top of the tank. I bet no one will reply this year and someone will reply in 2011!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a tsn's tankmate? I have a 4-inch juvenile tsn, and I'm building a 370 gallon tank. Trying to decide if I want to get another shovelnose or add a different species.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a tsn with some kind of silver cat, a water cow golby and an alligator gar

Too much to list - half of big fish people keep can be kept with a TSN successfully. Any fish that won't fit in a TSN's mouth will do. With TSN almost all one has to worry about is predation. It won't try if a tank mate is too big to even consider attempting.
