Ansorgii Ansorgii how are you, I’m still struggling to get the zebra to eat. So far I’ve tried Hikari Massivore delight, meal worm, frozen prawns, mussels and NT labs catfish pellets.

I have only just put a new log in to separate the 2 plecos as they were all sharing the 1 I had and the zebra seemed to not like it as he kept putting the front of his body up in the air and shaking from side to side so I have now separated them but my Arowana likes the water on the warmer side and my temperature fluctuates I’d say between 28.8 and 29 Celsius.

I read zebras should be up to 28

Don’t think I should slowly bring it down to 28 ?

I am good, how are you?

Did you ask what he ate in the store? I would give him some time, as even pred cats can be a bit upset after a change of home, and you should not compare them to the greedmonsters that RTCs and TSNs are. I do not remember this species in particular, but some catfish take some time until they start eating. The Lima cats I had last took over a week until they started to eat, and even longer to figure out what to do when fed that tank. I would also try to get him to eat fishfilet or better whole small freswater fish first. He is a wildcaught fish after all and needs to learn that pellets are edible aswell. And be patient, you can't force him and he will not starve anytime soon.

And on't worry about the temperature, 1 degree difference is not the world and easily falls into the inacuracy of equipmemt. The quality lf water is more important.

The pictures look great, no damage on the mouth which some brachyplastystomas are notorious for.

When I got him I did ask why he was eating and the shop keeper said mainly mussels with the occasional beef heart, he was in with some discus and he used to pinch the beef heart off them apparently

I might try some live fish, just finding the right ones

You got any recommendations?

Actually I’m going to try some live shrimp and bloodworm before I try live fish
