Garlic also has some health benefits, I hope he will take the fish, but like I said, be patient. Sometimes fish seem to refuse to eat the more you pressure them. His hunger will overcome him eventually.

I was going to wait a day or 2 now as I’ve tried to feed him everyday since I got him and I’m forever fishing out the food

Should be for the better. All the wasted food isnt the best for the water aswell.

Update, he’s taken mussel today for the first time, I’m over the moon. I’ve been feeding him the heart every 2/3 days just so he’s eating something but now he’s on the mussel I can start putting the pellets in ( I was struggling to put it in the heart cubes as they turned to jelly once defrost too much )

You can try to push some pellets into the muscles before you feed him. To sneak in more nutrients and see if that helps.

I am going to try that as the mussels will be a lot easier to hide the pellets
