Tigrinus looks thin

That's good he's eating. Does he eat worms? If so give him some trout worms or nightcrawlers. Two or three worms a day should plump him right up.
 
Excellent! So there is a big hope. I'd not rush the cycling/transferring and test his new tank with rosey reds or guppies for at least several days after ammonia and nitrite are steady at zero.
 
I have not tried earthworms yet. They seem long and slimy and im not too keen on touching them (weird eh?)

Im feeding shrimp as well soaked in garlic juice and he is gobbling that down as well now.

Worms are arguably the best food we can give our fish. Loaded with nutrition and high levels of protein. Also easy to raise yourself with a vermicomposting setup. If its that big of a deal then grab them with forceps and rinse them in a net.

Yeah they are a bit weird but i feed em to my cat. First day I got it he was eating trout worms out of my hand. You could soak em in garlic juice like the shrimp.
 
Be careful with a tig in a small tank as they can startle easy when you approach the tank and crash into the side of the glass and bend their mouth. I tried growing mine out in a smaller tank and this is what happened to mine. My new one grew out in a 90 gallon and now is in a 520 gallon. My old tig only ate frozen food but my new one which is about 12" now is eating massivore,carnivore and frozen. I find they can stress easy from other tankmates harassing them and if they are swimming vertically in one spot against the glass then that is the tell tale sign they are stressed. Make sure it has a cave to settle into to keep it comfortable.

Do some research and you will see that a juruense or tigrinus that swims vertically in one spot is stressed! Do you think it's natural for these cats to swim vertical in one spot in the wild?

Ask anybody that has owned one for a few years.
