i mean like the the exporter use the flash zebra to sell the jurunese but why the price i see is around 40 when a little tigirnus cost about 300

the tigrinus is so expensive because to mortality rate is high compaired to jurence

everyone knows what a nice fish a tig is when it gets bigger the jurence is nice but it just cant compair to a tig they are in different ball parks

tigs stay smaller than jurence

if you think you will end up with a great looking flash jurence your are wrong what you will end up with is a jurence if its the jurence you like and have plenty of room for a 3ft cat go for it

if you want something a bit smaller and better looking in my opinion get the tig

i have had a few tigs this is my one i have now had it for about 2.5 years king of the catfish in my eyes

Tell me which juruense this cat looks like. This is my flash. while it doesn't have the most vibrant yellow color like it's in the so called "captive exporter tank", its light color is definitely not silverlish but yellow creamish with broader band. Even thou it may not have the most yellow color out there like some newly caught flash juruense, the yellow comes back and forth depending on its mood unlike a normal juruense. Such as when my ray is picking on it, it will turn more yellow than when it's chillin at a corner without any harassment.

Your "flash" looks exactly the same as mine did at a small size, when it gets bigger it will be white/black.

The other pictures you show are from a fish shop, that "flash" picture likely just arrived.

The wild one is just that, a wild one, do I think the yellow would go white in captivity? I think its likely yes.

I mean does mine look like pic 1 or pic 2 in post 42? I certain think pic 2. Even if it turned white it still has thicker bars. Btw, the ones I had in the past never turn white, only creamy, no matter how long.

why is it that people who have brought flash jurence always think they are right and they will have one that stays yellow/gold

like i said many many flash jurence have been imported over the years and the jurence is a popular fish so can someone show me a pic of a adult flash jurence like the wild one the lady is holding

i don't think so

by the look and size of your flash jurence you have not had it that long and i can tell you if you take pictures again in 6 months it will look no different to a normal jurence

as for the stripes are broader mmmmmmmmmmmmm different tigs have different stripe patterns does that mean they are a different fish

I took this pic when I just got it from the previous owner who had him for at least 6 months in his tank. I kept him for another year and his color was always like this, never got darker.

Most tigs will have different stripe patterns when adult like tiger shovelnose, even thou they are the same species. But, there are different stripe characteristics in tiger shovelnose that made them different species....corsican, facism, tigrium...etc. We are not talkinga about stripe pattern here like the first example above. We are talking about different stripe characteristics like the second example above.

I hear from the importer that these guys will display their most vibrant yellow color when they are in a group, and only the dominate one will display high yellow while the rest stays creamy. Either way most normal juruense don't show cream color, but white, even thou I have seen a few rare yellow normal juruense due to its thin yellow bars.
