Tile Floor in THE TANK

Here's an idea... why not just put something underneath the glass.... like a background on the back of a tank? Then all you have to do is find something that looks like tile.

Doh..know why now... refraction would interfere I think. the difference between looking straight at it (the background) vs the side or bottom

And besides the point of my tank weighing over 300 pound empty with no water and the weight would crush anything that wasn't paper. lol I think it looks much better tile laying in the tank

Got to love integrity. Save a few bucks but cant be trusted hmmm good trade off I guess.

When I did a tile bottom tank I just laid a thin layer of similar color sand on the bottom, then dropped the tile in place. Pretty sure it eliminated any gaps quite nicely.

I tried that, the fish will remove that sand when they explode forward, also they will be sand all over the tile; did not like that myself. Another thing I tried was placing the tile on suction cups. This raised the tile about 1/4 inch, to get it clean I pointed a Power head under for a bit. Not a good idea with shrimp or small fish though....

Hey guys so I got it done with a few tings I may try in the future. Such as there is a 1/4 inch bracing in 3 to 4 inch strips the whole way around the bottom of my tank thus leaving some tiles leaning but still looks good. Maybe in the future I will do something to leave it leavel by puting something under the tiles. And of course the decour will change as my wood sinks lol
