Neither, I would like to see a dark black marblized tile at the bottom:D.

Love your Monsters. They would look even more demonic with a dark marblized tile.

its like giving a dog a dog bed. sure it can do without it, but why not give it that comfort. your argument is = to me saying dogs should of been left as wolves which in that case..i would have to agree but the fact remains they have been domesticated. tank is hot no doubt...im just saying you cant tell me the turtle doesn't seem different or stressed without the sand.

i had a sideneck turtle that also is a "sand turtle" and i saw the difference asap. they like the kick the sand up and put it over their shell

dude i think hes doing a wonderful job giving this turtle a home. They sell them at an asian market down the street. People eat them , i dont know why you would want one but whatever. So if he doesnt want sand so be it , its something the turtle can call home. Better to be fed then to feed somone else.

i dont think the sand matters that much, but i would add a light so its bone development doesn't mess up

i would never eat it, that turtle rocks! :headbang2

Awesome setup and stock! I would have to go with 3 or a black tile...

as stated in post #3, reason for getting rid of the sand is because water changes were not helping. the sand was giving me nitrate problems. so id rather give the fish better water quality than a big sand box for the turtle :)

id like to do black tile as well, but i have a few bottom dwellers that would darken up with a dark substrate. and i dont want that ;)

#3 for sure !

You are the man. What ever you choose would end up looking very nice. Having your bottom dwellers turn dark is not a bad thing imo:grinno:. I think they would be a Monster in disguise, chomp!
