Tips for filling 220?

All the silicone looks good but I don't know if it's ever been resealed before.
As you fill it check the silicone between the glass panels, If it looks clear or kind of green your good, But if it turns white that is the silicone being pulled from the glass. It may be the bond is not good in that area. I hope that makes sense.
Remember the silicone inside the tank adds very little to holding the tank together it mainly provides the waterproofing its the silicone between the joints that holds everything together.

One question that I thought of, my tank is sitting in my house where it is 70 degrees. However, my cold water line is currently about 50 degrees. If I fill in increments, or even just from filling normally, do I have to worry about the temperature differential causing the glass to crack?

It is sitting on a wooden stand (I believe that is made by Aqueon) which I modified by putting 4x4's on the top and bottom to add height.

As far as I can tell, by looking at Aqueon's website and tracking their part number, they don't make the stand.

It looks like All Glass Aquarium either makes it or gets it from the same supplier as Aqueon. Note the 51192 part of PID code matches what Aqueon uses on the 24x72 stand they offer on their website. This is common for 3rd party sellers to use the suppliers part codes to simplify tracking.

The stand (per the image on the link) appears to be rated for a 180 gallon. So, I'd probably not fill it until someone who built the stand told me that it could hold an extra 400-450 pounds. Obviously, it might hold a 220, and obviously, your stand might not be the same part number.

No, they temp would have to be drastically different for that to happen.....like 100 degrees different.

When I got my used 180 and resealed it, I filled it in the garage and let it sit for a few days before I brought it inside.

I will check the part number again but I remember that when I looked it up before purchasing the stand it was rated for a 180 or 210. In addition, I added a lot of vertical supports to the stand, just for my own peace of mind that it will be sturdy enough.

Here is a picture of the stand before I put the tank on it.

The light colored vertical pieces are all pieces that I added for support. I cut each one to fit tightly into the gap between the top and bottom of the stand. There are also the same pieces on the back of the stand and there are two pieces on each side.

In addition, I added the 4x4's on the top and bottom. For that I just made a rectangular frame and attached it with brackets to the top, and the same thing for the bottom. This gave me about 7" of extra height so I could have some clearance for the sump underneath.

I will try to get the part number for the stand when I get home and post it but even if it was for a 180 only, I think that my additional supports will be more than enough to support the extra weight of the 220.

That stand looks like it'll support a 500gal, so a 220 will be no problem
