No worries I can help answer your 1st question. They lay eggs first then brood the young. 2nd and 3rd question I'm not sure as my eggs keep getting eatened lol. All I can say is if u plan to breed your altifrons isolate them from others for a higher % success rate.

Not planning to breed them since they are in a comm tank but if they do naturally it would be cool.

I've had my geos breed once a month and since they are in a community tank none survive. I managed to save 9 fry when the parent spit them out.

Ya if they are a proven pair and they mate they will spawn naturally but like others say the fry won't survive unless isolated. My Tapajos spawned twice already. I have 2 larger males and 8 females. The other females line up and try pair up with the males and it's pretty funny coz the main paired female gets pissed and fights them off of their man lol. I have 2 solid pairs going which spawned but the parents are too stupid and ate the eggs....
