Spot feeding is when you hand feed select fish who are not quick enough to eat. Fish like Limas, black ghost knifes, datnoids, rays are good examples.

Limas are a awesome fish. They have personality and love to be hand fed. Plus, they have a neat way of hanging by your heater.

I know what it is. You said that's what makes you like them. So I was asking if you were referring to it.

Oh yea. I like being able to hand feed fish makes it a lot more fun for me.

Yes, adults or juveniles it doesn't matter much to me.

I've kept a bunch of "Lima" over they years both Elongatus and the true Sorubim Lima from 3"-22". When they are small under 6" I always fed ghost shrimp and rosies, around 8" I would switch that to a combination of feeders and hikari sinking carnivore pellets. They def prefer company of other shovelnose in the smaller sizes and once one figures out how to feed the others always seemed to learn quickly watching.
