That's awesome! I keep my fish away from feeder fish as much as possible. Every now and then very rare though, I'll buy guppies or small live bearers for them to eat. I mainly do chopped shrimp, tilapia and earthworms.I've kept a bunch of "Lima" over they years both Elongatus and the true Sorubim Lima from 3"-22". When they are small under 6" I always fed ghost shrimp and rosies, around 8" I would switch that to a combination of feeders and hikari sinking carnivore pellets. They def prefer company of other shovelnose in the smaller sizes and once one figures out how to feed the others always seemed to learn quickly watching.
