Is it him looking for food when he sticks his nose in my water output hose? He goes up to it everyday and just swims with the current with his nose in it.

it might be my bichirs and ropefish like to play in the current but I've never seen any of the 4 eels I've had do that

I don't believe anybody has ever successfully bred spiny eels in captivity.

There was a proven pair in the U.K. Recently, I saw them but they sold really quickly
