Ive had 2 tiretrack eels for like 4 months now got them at like 7in still havent grown.... they have been eating bloodworms..also their in a 75 gallon with an 5-7in aro.... any suggestions on how to get these guys to start growing!!!!!!

Feed them:D

Try earthworms, market shrimp(stuff them with pellets) fish fillets cut to size, even beef and chicken hearts and livers. Once they get bigger most foods are gladly accepted.

Also use cation with your tankmates, they can eat larger fish then they look capable of.

they hide all the time except at night when the lights are off... they will come out when they smell the bloodworms... they will even come up to the surface to get it!!

you should try hand feeding them and make them accustomed to feeding in low light, to get them used to you. Very personable fish any time I come in the room my guy comes out. Never had a problem with the growing maybe ur not seeing it cause you see them everyday. Nightcrawlers, meal worms, snails and there have been times when I'm in a pinch that he's eaten ground beef (not sure how healthy that is) mine won't eat any dried foods, probably cause he's spoiled. He won't eat any fish or shrimp either but I do hear that most also enjoy silver sides and brine shrimp

I don't even see mine. I forget he's there. Don't know if he's grown or not. LOL

my old one loved earth worms like from the bait shop but would eat ghost shrimp bloodworms and feeders. they are awsome keep a lid on the tank or else they will get out

there is a couple users with some big ones mine was around 16-18 " or so when he jumped will try to dig up some pics

My late (thanks to a negligent, incompetent Pet Sitter!!! :`( 33" tite track started off at about 8-10" and I fed him both bloodworms and red wrigglers (redworms) when he was young. At over a foot he was on a strict diet of Nighcrawlers (Canadian Cold Worms, not the warm European crawlers!)

He would happily hand feed and never bothered any of the other denizens (and was quite careful around other fish when snatching up his worms from the bottom).
