TITAN AQUATICS 374g (externail) build 96"x30"x30"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for looking out. With them being led they are cool to the touch on the light side. I plan to hang them to get them out the way and improve the shimmer. I'm kicking the idea around of using 3 100w LEDs further off the water than I'd do the 30s. I'm waiting to get it running first.

I have those same LEDs. I only have 10 and 20 watt though. I think you will find them to be plenty bright! This is a single 10 watt on a four foot 90 gallon mounted about a foot above the tank:

That is one heck of a nice looking setup!

Where I want to hang them is about 2' off the water. Ill try it and if it looks good like yours ill keep them. I had 2 on the glass tops of a 125 and it was bright enough just don't know how further off the water would look. We shal see.

3d background?

Pressure washed the driftwood in prep for trying to see what I want to use. Took 100 years of funk off the right side lol

Mocking up UV placement. That hole was there already, I'll probably drill out another one.

It's coming along nicely, thanks for the update! I really am diggin the LED spotlights.

Yeah me too. I had 2 400w MH 12k on the african 240 that was in this spot before. I really wanted the shimmer but not the cost of the bulbs every year...power consumption (not that big of a deal but not bad to lower it) and the heat. I had looked high and low at what to do and triped some 30w 6-7k "cool white" ones becasue at the time thats the highest K they had. Too yellow so they went back and I was thinking the DIY Cree route but thats costly and I didnt know what color combo to go with. It seems this guy on ebay has a way to get custom K's and is probably making lots of others happy too!

Lights mounted. The lense are about 15" off the top of the tank. We will see after water is in there if its bright enough for me. Should shimmer like mad tho :D

Now the hard part...land scaping. Never good at this. I like the two on the right...I like to two peices on the left but not placement. And I have a few other peices of wood to rotate in and that I have already rotated in.
