Tjinking of getting rid of my sun catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no problem

That might be the largest suncat on Monsterfishkeepers! Definitely keep him :D

these are cool cats, bought one and always hides, thought they were like ID sharks that constantly swim but i was wrong.

How do I get a good photo of this guy? He only comes out in the dark and stays under a rock when any light is on. Would it be cruel to remove the rock for a minute to get an overhead shot of him? I would love even to see for myself but would never want to do anything to stress him, so I've tried my best but can't seem to get a good pic. I use a Nikon D70 s and can play with the settings but how to get a pic that shows his true size. He's a beautiful fish and I would love to get a great shot of him to show everyone. After all of the kind words I'm definitely going to keep him and if need be add a larger tank for him.

The only way I get pictures of mine is to take a piece of shrimp or fish and lure him out of his cave while the lights are off.

try putting a blue filter over your light or getting some of the cheapo blue led lights from petsmart to simulate moonlight, you may be able to take a pic with those on, or eventually use them to get him accustomed to being out while your around

Great ideas guys, thanks. I'm getting a photo tonight and will post it right away. I'll wait him out in the dark if I have to but I'm dedicating my night to getting a good photo of this guy. I would love to show you all a decent picture of him.

he looks great
