yeh thanks bro. i actually wanted to buy this guy a LONG LONG time ago. he was trapped alone in a 2 feet tank. however he was REALLY EXPENSIVE and i wasnt sure if my RTCs wud eat him or not. but after adding my smallish silver arows and oscars i was convinced that he wud do very well in my pond. PLUS HE WAS HALF PRICE! ever since i got him, his shell has much deeper colouration and he looks heaps fatter. must be due to diet and sunlight!
haha yea i saw a 2' proon shark take down a 12" jar aro not to long ago so i guess u got a nice one........ yea minimizeing injury is good but for some reason i wouldnt be able to hold myself back from the driftwood and rocks........ but it would only be a few larger sized rocks and driftwood....... but yea the jar should be fine if u put it in when u get back on the 8th.......... but i think that once u move that jar the green might go agro on the silvers...... it might not but ive found out most aros some times snap and go all mean but it he might not change at all and be ok....... just cant wait to see the pond all stocked!!!!!!!! does the frt swim a lot or does it just like to hang out???? plans on any more frts if u can find them cheap and the right size?????? maybe u can get it a mate!!

haha yeh wud be pretty awesome. but dont they need dry land and stuff to mate? might have to build him a new home! and yes my frt does swim around quite a lot. hes pretty fat so he struggles but other than that, hes quite a capable swimmer!! altho he does enjoy vegetating for the majority of the day. maybe cuz hes used to being in a tiny tank :s
oh, and wen u say TAKEDOWN! wat do u mean??? like gobble up?
I envy your FRT mate. I am thought about getting a FRT (saw some really nice ones over here and thailand) unfortunately i am not allowed to keep turbles on the premises - laotians consider having turtles bad luck somehow (long lived creature making the lives of owner shorter or something along those lines).
Waiting for updated pictures heheheh moving the remainder of your army already? i actually like silver aros in the tanks... will be moving my paimas next spring - they are disturbing my silver aros actually - growth rates never seizes to amaze me (updates on my 8' soon as the water cleared up - i installed UV in the end cos it got really green at some point in time)
PS: the green aro almost recovered from its injuries (tail and fins are growing back nicely) ... don't know where to put him though

nice glad to hear that the green is recovering and ure paimas are as LARGE AS EVER! i dont think i can resist buying pimas bro. now i have a lot more knowledge, space and good friends like u to ask for advice. i think im ready to go paima wen i go back this holiday (8th nov)!
woah for us chinese people we believe the exact opposite! that keeping long life creatures will extend owners life. very interesting indeed. hes cute tho. just swims about. sleeps most of the time and eats plenty!
i cant wait to move the rest of my army! with the paimas my collection will be complete. unless i can get my greedy hands on a B. FILA catfish! mwahaha
yes when i say take down i mean eat it was crazy........ the jar put up a fight........ in the end there was a BUNCH of scales and a really fat proon......... but the proon is crazy aggressive......

man thats crazy...yeh ive seen a lot of hardcore paroons on youtube but mine is sweet as anything. hes really really skittish and wont even chase the little feeders! hes like the dalai lama of the paroon world!
ooops, missed this one.
Your pond look's good as ever, very nice on the FRT! I bet he is so much fun to watch swim in there. All the aro's in the tank look really good, can't wait to see them in your pond.
I would stay away from the driftwood also. For the reasons you mentioned, and for the fact that it might turn your water yellow. With that much and deep of water I wouldn't chance it, you might not be able to see the bottom, and your pond is so clear right now.
On a side note, it must be hard being away from your fish for such long periods of time.
