oh absolutely...probably only a couple of inches in length but they are EXTREMELY fat and round...and tall...they eat everything i throw into the pond tho....floating/sinking pellets and dead fish...they r the true trashcans of the pond!

What kind of Plecos? Any Acanthicus or pseudocanthicus species?

i have NO idea..i just bought as many random ones as i cud and threw them in...i know i have about 3 different types in there but im not a pleco expert :( they just help me control the algae! sorry

yeh i was thinking about putting sumthing on that raised section. but then my RTC/TSN hybrids enjoy chilling there during the day so i left it open for them!
 
Well, you could put in a few floating islands with plants. The islands float and can be tethered to the side or bottom. The roots of the plants hang out into the water and eat phosphates and nitrates. The roots are where small breeding fish can live and reproduce, to feed the larger fish that will hunt them. Livebearers or mop spawners.
