TO ALL STAND BUILDERS - MODIFICATION QUESTION

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Glad you were able to solve it. I was going to suggest either tilting the unit or removing the lid and then assemble underneath the stand. I can assure you that doing a modification that severe without extensive knowledge would have been a very bad idea. More often than not you would have regretted the change over a filter.

BOOM....900GPS 2260, with modded pump in place and pounding out the water !

I'm glad you were able to get the filter under the stand without having to modify it.

I do have a couple suggestions though. See if you can raise the output hose from the pump so it isn't laying on the bottom of the stand. You will see a slight improvement in pump output and will also experience fewer problems when priming the filter after maintenance.

Also, do you have the Eheim quick disconnect valves installed somewhere in the input and output hoses?

When it is time to do maintenance on the filter, I highly recommend using the drain port to remove the majority of the water from the canister as this will make it so much easier to tilt and remove the filter from under the stand.

When you say raise the hose above the pump, you mean like hang out from the underside of the stand?

I have quick disconnect valves in place and also have the back wash port in place with 2m hose attached (I think you can see the clear hose in the pic)

From your picture above, it appears the output hose from the pump is laying on the floor of the stand. I was just suggesting that instead of the hose laying on the floor, it should exit the pump and continue upward behind the tank and to the spraybar in the tank.
