I've been bit several times over the years but I got a few that stick out in my mind

My Puffer (A. Hispodus)at about 10" long bit the tips of my thumb, 1st & 2nd finger while I was feeding another fish. I was holding a feeding probe with a piece of shrimp on the other end to feed an eel at the bottom, the tips of my fingers were barely in the water at the surface. I was watching the eel, not the puffer, he got me good!!! My skin was hanging off my 1st finger.

The best thing I ever had happen was in my shop. This lady would come in regulary with her out of controll son. He would run around the shop banging on the tanks, opening lids, putting his hands in the water, etc, completly out of controll. I would ask the lady to get her kid under controll, her best attempt was to tell him to stop, it didn't do any good though. THis went on for about a year untill one fatefull day... another customer of mine traded in the biggest Dovii I have ever seen, it was the biggest, meanest fish I've had in a very long time. It would not cohabitate with other fish so I put it in a 40 long on the bottom row of tanks by him self. I was feeding the fish when this lady and her out of controll kid came in, I unintentially left the lid open on the dovii's tank. THis kid does his regular routine and puts his hand in the dovii's tank and WHAM!!!!! That Dovii bit the hell out of him. It left fang marks on the back of his hand!!!! Man that was cool!!!! It was all I could do not to laugh my ass off. THe woman paniced, the kid was crying and bleeding, it was great...I calmly said to her, "this is why I've been asking you to keep you kid under controll....I really hope my fish is OK" THey never came back to my shop after that....

My leichardti had a go once.

Left some brusing but no actual cuts.

Great Story ... I was working at my LFS. We had a huge South American Lungfish. The thing never moved and at the time I didn't know anything about them. Heck, I was only 15. One day I was cleaning the tank and a customer ask if it was a nasty fish. I said no, it just lays around until feeding time ... To prove my point I wiggled my finger right in front of its nose ... BAD IDEA !!! This huge 20 inch lungfish grabbed my finger and did not want to let go. My finger was ok but my ego was a little damaged ... The rest of the guys at the shop could not stop laughing and busted my chops for years ...

Must be an Aba knife .... They do things like that. :)

I wanted to add that when I was netting my P's to move to another tank, I wanted to cradle the net so to calm down the fish, but instead, it panicked, started to "swim down" inside the net and caught my middle finger. Almost a perfect dime size cut deep into the veins, but didn't sever an artery. I was also slightly drunken.

i've been biten by a 12" barred midas
strong jaws... actually drew blood

We were sittin at my friend randy's house staring at his arow when this conversation came up. Randy tells me it doesn't hurt when his two foot fish bites (MY @$$). So I stuck my finger in there and the fish swam into the corner of the tank like it was scared. So I started saying," Why is your fish such a wimp?" As soon as I said "wimp" the sucker nailed me when my head was turned away. Scared the living ***** out of me (even though I provoked the fish and knew I was going to get bit). Only a few little scatches, but they wouldn't stop bleeding for a little while. Stupid fish, stupider me.
