Id get a single dovi and have a few others 4 a comunity Jag,moto other parachromis and a festae.
I say that cause i want that but really its up to you. But id take the Dovi option out of the 2 u gave.

Go with the dovii pair. I was just going to go with 1 male dovii at first, but now Im down to keeping 2-males 1-female trying to get a pair. They are awesome even as juvies.

nice! ill get 4 F0-F1 from rapps or conkel and go from there.

i just got these little guys. hoping to get 3 or 4 pairs out of them.

I'm picking up my first dovii tomorrow. It's a nice female.
I grabbed the salvini today, but tomorrow it's dovii time!

not to derail but what size tank does a single male dovii need? and a pair?

i know people who have kept a 20" male and large female in a 5ft juwel

that is very likely not going to work, dovii are pronounced phsyco's... im not as lucky as balton

originally i thought the tank was a 5x2x2 but i measured it the other day and its a 5x2.5x2.5 so its a good 234G
