hmmm thats different....cause in the first article i saw the labs, would actually dive into the sand and rustle it up to get plankton and crustaceans into the water column..but times have changed..maybe not for the best...with all this damn inbreeding going on in media luna

I saw them do that, but not as frequently as simply picking through the debris and rock. One of the other behaviors that I thought was pretty cool was when the female had fry she would go to the bottom and shake her body above the debris...stirring it up for the fry to eat. Scores of livebearers and other small fish would hang in the back and zoom in to capitalize on the cloud...and occasional fry.

The Motaguense is 8-9"
