I won't have the money to in till I do get the stock tank, I am going to build the filter for that though. I am going to use some media from my tanks to help cycle the tank.

I don't think the change in temp killed the bacteria... they're more resilient than we give them credit for. It sounds to me like your filter can't handle your bioload. Until you get your new tank, you should do 50% water changes per day. It's the price you pay when you overstock. I still don't understand why you don't have nitrates... even .5ppm is very, very little.
I will take water samples to my LFS and see if my test kit is bad. Could be a possibility. But can someone help me with how to help the Salvini and pleco.
what the salvini is doing could be related to the water quality, see if he gets better after a couple of changes.

I will ask for the numbers. I have not seen them poop recently. If it is IP what should I treat them with?
Medicated food for IP (internal parasites). Might be a little harder with plecos... you'd have to separate.

This is why I doubt it. I suggest just keeping on top of water changes. When you feel you've done enough... do a little more. Hopefully you can upgrade rather quickly.
They were fine in till the temp's messed up. So I think the stress from that made everything go down hill. So once I get things back to normal I believe it will be fine in till I get the upgrade.
