Liz, why are the shrimps so red? Do you cook them then feed them? Shrimps is my bichir daily diet not a treat.:D I give my bichirs massivores as a treat and once in awhile some guppies to make them exercise.:D
yes they are cooked... the reason being...i have a super fussy arowana.. he would never eat anything except some Azoo floating pellets.. through the years i tried everything over and over.. because of cooked shrimp he has changed his ways... he will eat anything and everything because he always thinks it will be cooked shrimp... lol.... even algae pellets... so i won't mess with his cooked shrimp recipe.. he is 7 years old now and still growing..and actually now gets so excited when he sees me coming ...i could not afford DAILY diet of shrimp..too many fish...

As long as you don't notice fat around their limbs, making them appear chubby.

As with all things we keep, a one to two day fast once a week (especially after big feedings) really does them good.
no nothing like that... they get plenty of exercise... wow can they swim

That is very interesting that your aro choose to eat cooked shrimps than raw. Will the shirmp float when it's cooked? Maybe I should try that with my picky eater. You have a lot more fish than I do and bigger too. Yes, it would be quite expensive to give them shrimps daily. I go thru about 1 lb of market shrimps a week.

Sometimes i cook it myself...but most times i buy the jumbo shrimp frozen..sometimes they have sales...buy one get one... and they sink right down..but he is trained now and catches it .... so if he should miss it ...{rare occurence} the adonis pleco loves it and also the synodontis.. a 30-70 count of shrimp is 12.99.. but i buy a bunch of them when they have it on sale for $9.99
