Just an idea I was thinking of for my house, since I have my tank backed up against a shared wall with a bathroom.

This would syphon off water from the tank for the toilet tank and refill it with a toilet float valve in the tank with fresh water from the now un-used toilet water supply.

I could see moving 10 plus gallons of water a day thru this system a day with zero wastage.

Just put the fish in the toilet.

plus you need some good carbon filters for chlorine or dosing pump for chloramines.... but that isn't a bad idea....

If your going to do that id be scared of some back up or reverse siphon putting toilet water into to your tank. Id put some check valves to be safe

one time when the power was out i used a 5 gallon bucket of dirty fish watter to fill up my toilet to flush it it was left over water i never dumped after doing water changes.

so lets get this right, every time you flush the toilet you get a small warter change? if so i think its a great idea(very green):headbang2

Sounds like a great way to save on the water bill too. :)

Dosing pump is on the diagram. :headbang2

So you would still be filtering the water that would be used to flush your toilet? What about temperature changes? You have no control over the temperature of the water you get from that pipe.
