Toilet Water Changes?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for the input. The tank would be a 120 gallon with a 55 gallon sump, and the house for now will be very low usage (it has only one person living it it). The water would be well water, so their is no chlorine to worry about :)

Put a solar collector on the room if you live somewhere sunny, that'll preheat the water, or if its cold there, slip a feed out of the central heating system! I gotta see this!!!!

You could use a mains pressure submersable pump to pump to the toilet and have a ball valve to refill you sump. Treat the mains water with A/C or fill a aging water tank and top up aquarium with that. Thinking on doing this for my 6ft tank.
Thanks for the idea

Now to throw in the mix here...dont forget about salinty levels on marine tanks..i see a nightmare in keeping salintity stable...unless you have one of those HIGH..ops i meant HIGH dollar salt and water premix/holding chambers i think they run around 4 grand for a 150g auto mix system...i want one but i cannot justify the bucks..just think of the fish i could buy with the 4 grand...i guess i will just have to keep mixing my water change water in totes as always..but on the bright side the "dirty" fish water keeps my saturday lawn mowing a have to do thing

I don't think flushing your toilet with saltwater would be so good. Most toilets still have metal parts (brass bolts holding tank to bowl) that would corrode. Plus it just makes for more cleaning headaches.

I just took a leak in my fish tank and then flushed the toilet. Nothing happened...Oh wait, why are my fish floating?

Actually, someone had this same idea about a year or so ago. There might be some usefull info if you can find the thread.
