I got it bad in one of my tanks. It’s everywhere…plants, rocks, substrate, filters, etc. Started by bringing one crypt from a buddy’s tank that had it.

Does anyone know if those chemical algacides work? I don’t care to save the plants but worried about all the hard goods

When I had cyano, I was too impatient to use rid x so I just did chemiclean and it worked like a charm after 2 rounds, you just have to remove most by hand first.
For other algaes, a mix of various algae eaters, excel, and lots of plants did the trick.

I wish it was just Cyano. I have Blackbeard and it’s nasty stuff. Will Chemiclean or RidX do anything for Blackbeard?

TBH I’ve never tried, may be worth the experiment though.
I did have success treating it by feeding it to scuds though. Any decoration covered in bba can be dropped in their tank and is quickly eaten.

Update finally got control of the Blackbeard Algae and my Amazon Swords are starting to grow well again. Excuse the glass specs of green algae.
