in that 40 gal its not a good idea 2 have a 120 basking spot what do u think will happen to the cool side?

Ummmmm.....The cool side stays the same? You can make a 120 degree basking spot with a 30 watt indoor flood......Making a desirable basking spot with low wattage bulbs is a really easy thing to do, but I guess I don't know how to keep Iguanas.......After all, I only go through around a thousand a year........

Here's a hint - Raise the animal to the basking spot, not bring the basking spot to the animal.......

im just say for his sitution what out him buying a new light or branch of some sort.
i dont know way you would do the basking spot so high a 120? come on lol people do it that high yes but its a lil extrem in his case all my iggs have a basking spot of 110 the most sorry english is not my 1st languge im trying my best to explain myself.

I agree, for something like a Sav or Argus, or something of that nature, that lives in desert-like areas, 120 sounds good.. But for an iguana? I don't think the rainforests get quite that hot...

That is true. Letuce is not a proibited food, if you get organic romain or even if you grow it yourself, however even then its just a ocasinal snack and I find it of litle relevance in the diet of young growing igs. Normal supermarket letuce is a waste of stomack space.
