if they get too agro with each other you can lower the temp to 76f. when larger they really enjoy some current provided by powerheads, but also with some low current spots to rest.

Thanks! The tank is super heavily planted so im hoping that will help curb their agro towards each other for now. not alot of current at the moment but I will remember that when setting up their future home.

anything else?

wow these guys are smart! I checked the temp and dropped the floating therm in the place where I have been feeding for just the past day and they all swarmed to it and actually nipped at it! ha ha they are something else.

Anymore help would be much appreciated

Are there any problems with feeding pre cooked shrimp?? Ive got some frozen and just wondering if I can use it

you'll wanna stay away from feeding cooked foods, alot of good stuff is taken out during the cooking process

you can out grow those 16 in 125g for couple of month...

however if you have them in 240g and you power feed them they will grow fully grown in 7-10" if not sooner. The bigger tank the better. At that age feed them 3-4 time a day.

You may lost one or couple of them due to aggression, terriouterial, and other unexpected situation.

Yea they will be happy in 240g....also you can put up to 8 full grown adult in there.

Good luck.

I Agree a 240 gal for RBP A foot print of 8"x36"24tall will suit them good
allot of first time Piranha keeper think they do not get that big "(I DID)" But they DO ! so keep in mind if you want to bring the amazon to your living room
you must provide for these fish , Otherwise you will have a feeding frenzy
on your hands and it will be at the cost of your own Piranha / So to you my
cu dose/Good Luck with 16 Piranha I hope it works out .. ! ?

Thanks I really like these guys now...I was skeptical about them at first but once you realize they arnt the legend they are portrayed to be and just appreciate them for the cool fish they are they are very interesting. Ill be surfing craigslist daily till I find them a good home!

Anyone else have some input?

if you are up for it and you don't mind the extra water changes, 16 would do just fine in a 240, if you were really up for the challenge, you could even throw a few more in there to keep it nice and overstocked to prevent them from setting up territories in a huge tank

For my 210 (72x24x30) I bought 11 2"ers in Dec thinking I would have casualties but now it's May and still have 11 but now they are 6"+. I removed all my driftwood and it still looks over crowded. I need to get rid of 5...

16 is alot

for reference, i have 4 terns, 4 caribe, and 2 reds in a 125. all 6"-8". if you dont mind doing the water changes (possibly 2 a week) then you can keep them in a 125. the fish will be fine and their growth will not be stunted in a 125 to whoever said that. they are going to become a little less bold and more shy once they hit the 3" mark or so and you will find they are much more comfortable the more you have. the only downside to havine more is more water changes. you will have less agression similar to the way african cichlids are purposely overstocked. same thing here. of coarse the bigger the tank the better, who doesnt want the biggest tank they can afford. but they will be fine in a 125 if thats what you get.
