We should clarify. Do we mean which cichlid can do the most damage. In that case the big ones would top the list. Aggression is not a function of size; it's mostly a matter of attitude. Relative to their size a male Salvini or Convict can be as aggressive as anything. Try to imagine either at 16"!

I think if we saw a salvini or a black convict at that size, they would be in the number 1 and 2 rank. For as small as a Black Convict is,my female runs circles on my 4 in half inch Green Terror, while battling.

Umbee
Red Devil
Festae
Black Nasty
Texas
Jaguar
Managuense

Are my list of 10, have had several Gold/Silver Saums in the past and they wouldn't be able to hang with these guys, nor any sevs or JDs that I've had either.

WTF? Jaguar and Managuense are the same thing. One is the common name and the other is the scientific name.

for top ten most aggressive fishes.I wont go into order by who is 1 or 2,but.....
1.Midas
2.Dovii
3.Trimac
4.Jaguar
5.Texas
6.Flowerhorn
7.Jack Dempsey
8.Green Terror
9.Severum
10.Oscar

I've seen people putting fish like JD's and GT's on these lists. They are far from being the top aggressive fish. But SEVERUM? And OSCAR? :newbie: :D

Has anyone considered Grammodes and Neets as being super aggressive? They may be smaller than the others but are extremely aggro ime.

I know that my Male Midas that is about 6 1/2 inches is really aggressive. We had a male jag that was a little over 7inches in the tank with him and they got along when one morning we woke up to find the jag ripped to pieces. He was perfectly fine before the lights went out.

My oscar has taken on a jaguar and two oscars with no issue, where I had to remove those fishes to keep peace in the tank.So don't assume that every single oscar is a sissy, also my Severum does get into fights with my Green Terror, texas, and blood parrot.

Come on people lets keep our cool. I have had a really aggressive oscar and a pretty aggressive red severum. It all depends on the individual fish and its personality.

You're right, I apologize. I usually stay away from this kind of thread anyway.

There's always an exception to the norm but that doesn't mean that in general, they should be on the top 10 most aggressive list of cichlids...agreed?

You shouldn't have such a chip on your shoulder if you plan on posting in public forums. I said I apologize and I'll try and remember you get your feelings hurt easily. Really and seriously, I didn't mean to offend, it was just some silly kidding around. And I' don't think I'm considered an expert because of post count, just a social person lol.
