Top Chef?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I liked Top Chef Season 2 the best so far. I just graduated culinary school last year and just starting to get my feet wet in the culinary world. It is tuff so far let me tell you.

As far as ICA goes, doesn't even compare to the og IC. In ICA, the Iron Chefs and challengers know the secret ingredient before hand, where as ICJ did everything on the fly.

If you can make something up on the fly and can execute, then you have some talent. :)

The reason the original Iron Chef was so much better was because they had amazing chef's, with amazing guests. You think Joel Robuchon would show his face on Iron Chef America?

Alton Brown: Best host ever. Wish he was the kind of person who could be an Iron Chef, it's just not his style.

Masaharu Morimoto: Out of ICA's league. I've eaten at morimoto when he still cooked there, best food I've ever had... ever

Mario Batali: Amazing chef that gets far too little credit

Cat Cora: Please....

Bobby Flay: I was going to put Cat Cora last, but I didn't want to give this no talent hack the honor of not being last. You can't throw black beans in anything or put it on a quesadilla. Go back to grilling, jerk.

Nice with the Robuchon drop!

I don't think Bobby is as poor as you do, but I will add to your joke, you know that black bean quesadilla would have blue corn encrusted duck on it too.

I was just watching ICA, and one of the judges did say one of Bobby's dishes was "1994", but he was specifically talking about his use of a portobello.

well..... im a chef myself but i dont watch to many chef shows cause i don't really think there as honest as possible.. i know FOR A FACT iron chef are all fixed...... to make the odds 10-1 iron chef wil win...

Lol, everything bobby flay does is 1994. But that's just because he hasn't come up with anything new since then.

Sorry, I'll stop now!

Quick quiz? What is joel robuchon's signature dish?

It's a Joke how bad the Chef's this season are. I missed the last couple but when the one lady keeps winning because she didn't burn the Turkey or didn't burn the roast beef. I mean come on.

Also how many times do they get ripped into for not even tasting their food before serving it to the Judges.

Same lady made devilled eggs. LOL.

I'm a Chef too, and the ego of these people really pisses me off.

I got an idea, How about make dishes you know, cook the ingredients properly and season and taste your food, simple. But no.

That one challenge they had to make a "one pot" meal and half of them had no clue what to do and imho cheated by washing their pot between cooking methods.

I wanted to kill that Marcell idiot a few seasons back. Dumbest hair doo ever on that Tard. Let me put some smoking foam on your plate.

lol

been a chef from age 17 to now 41.When they come up with a show more realistic i will watch.I would like to see any of them cook 800 dinners in four hours with foreign dish washers, stoned cooks, not so bright waters/waitresses,and 100 degrees.

I'm a Hung Huynh guy myself...

Huge fan of the show and Hung may be my favorite ever as well (though I did like Steph from last season a lot, can't comment on season 1 because I didn't start watching until season 2).

I agree that overall the talent level this season seems to have dropped off, there are a few standouts but some of the dishes have been ridiculous for a competition (e.g. the deviled egg dish by Ariane).
