My weeksi suffered some minimal fin rot and fin split to the tail fin about 2 weeks ago. After doing lot of water changes and the adding of salt and melifix, the rot is gone and the splits formed up perfectly. The only thing is, the top part of of the fin hasn't fully grown back and I don't see any continuing regeneration. There are still some bump edges on which the fin rot rotted up the fin. Will the tail fin completely grow back like before. Only ONE FIFTH of the top tail fin is "gone" the top is bumpy with a smooth edge?? any suggestions??

thanks

well youve done the right thing to help it on the mend my weeksii when juvinelle lost part of his tail to fin rot after he split his tail somehow and it grew back really well within weeks but took a good few months to be perfectly reformed so hopefully yours will be fine mine is now 20 years old and still perfect down to every scale and fin

any before and after pic??? I've had a delhizi that lost HALF of has pectoral fins and they didn't grow properly. The fin injury on my weeksi is quite small though!!

hello i will upload a pic of my weeksii as soon as im able to figure out this site.i also brought a nile bichir which had a undersized pectoral fin (similiar to nemo) and that has fully grown back in less than two months but on the other hand was given a senegal that had a deformed fin maybe born that way through poor breeding or lost it to another fish but that has never come good it folds over but has never imparred him in any way and the pectoral fins are only used for slow directional aid.

Could you show a pic of the weeksi's tail please??? what did ur weeksi's tail look with finrot?? was it bad, mild, serious?? Can you describ the injury?? That would be awesome!
