it depends on how they are raised, collies and and pomeranians are much more agressive than pitts.
this isnt a thread to bash pitts either so dont post any more of this crap.
every collie species ive ever met are no where near agressive. your pretty defensive, and for no reason. I only mentioned it because it was reasonably big news, and it doesnt happen often as they have been illegal over here for years, so i've never met one. They got a reasonably bad rep over here so they got banned, and im sure owners over in the US probably get there fair share of people giving them crap for keeping them, but its your problem if you took it the wrong way.

lol, yea i spose i see what you mean, just was some recent news and was reminded by it by this thread, tends to stick in your head as we cant keep them. any dog would be capable of it, and any big dog could do anyone damage. and like you said its how you bring them up. Got to say to look at theyre nice looking dogs, zachs little puppy is adorable. I remember him saying something about training him up? what for exactly? other than i guess it would be quite good exercise.

I agree with Davo. He was just pointing out a fact. Pit bulls are notorious for attacking people.

Too many people get dogs, dont know how to train or dicipline or handle them. The dog is a total basketcase because it's owner is totally clueless and the dog does whatever it wants because the owner has "humanized" it.

"He's like my child, he thinks he's a person, I guess I have humanized him"
(meanwhile, the dog is jumping all over the guests, tearing their pants because it has absolutely no boundaries)
If someone has a dog like that, i dont go to their house.

This can be a horrible ERROR when it comes to a powerful breed like a pit.
People should need to have training before they are even aloud to buy a Pit.

I agree, Pits can be wonderful pets and super friendly dogs. Its just too bad that 80% of the people that buy them, have no idea how to control them.

I dont blame the Dogs. :(

To be honest i don't know, i was to young to remember when they were around and then they were gone, and i dont remember all the media hype etc etc. I dont want to hijack your thread about how bad they are or aren't, so people please refrain from from typing negative things, or start another thread which would end up with pointless arguments and flaming as people are so passionate about there pets (although the title of thread was misleading lol). Its the same for herp keepers, getting grief about what animals you choose to keep, and as long as it doesnt put other people in danger, your pet, look after it, love it, be happy

He was stating a bit of news. He's not making them sound bad, he's pointing out news which is making the owner of the said dog sound bad. As long as you know how to control you're dog there's no reason to be offended. Pitt's have a bad stereotype and will never lose it.

Yep, any dog(even the said pomerainian) mistreated is a loaded gun imo. These dogs aren't specifically killing machines but they have special properties in the breed that need to be trained specialty and need a strong hand. And unfortunately they have gotten into the hands of alot of people who obviously shouldn't have dogs(the people who have these incidents)

My heart dropped when I read the title of this thread, I was really going to speak my mind , thank you so much for showing your love of the best dogs in the world imo! Here's my boys!
